DSO delegation to Prime Time 2026
Alexandra Hickox
Alexandra Hickox is a Deaf filmmaker, photographer, and interdisciplinary artist based in Toronto. She is the founder of Undivided Productions and the Administrator of the Unify Deaf Film Festival. Her award-winning short film The 5% explores Deaf identity and has screened at TIFF’s Community Impact program and international festivals. Alexandra has acted in projects by Marlee Matlin and John Greyson, and collaborates on ASL-integrated media and community-based work. Through film, theatre, and visual art, she advocates for accessibility, cultural visibility, and Deaf representation.
Colette Jeffs
Colette is a writer and film/television administrator with experience at award-winning production companies in a variety of roles, learning from industry-leading producers. She is currently the Development Manager at Longhope Media Inc. She has served as a Film Festival Screening Committee & Screenplay Reader for the Big Apple Film Festival, a judge for the NYC Midnight Writing Challenge, and a juror for the International Emmy Awards. She is also an alumna of the National Screen Institute and Roadmap Writers (USA), and a member of the Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television.
Kenneth Mohabir
Kenneth Mohabir is a Guyanese-Canadian screenwriter and actor whose Indo-Caribbean voice brings fresh cultural perspective to contemporary film and television. With training from Sheridan College and Centennial College, plus programs such as CBC Millennial X, ReelWorld Emerging Writers, and CMPA’s Diverse Producers mentorship, he has built strong development experience. As Showrunner’s Assistant to Simon Barry on a Netflix series, he gained invaluable writers’ room insight and ongoing mentorship. Kenneth is actively pitching his feature UR Only Fan and TV pilot The Extractors across Canada, the U.S., and the U.K., showcasing his commitment to commercially resonant, culturally rich storytelling.
Sarah Fodey
Sarah Fodey is an accomplished Producer, Writer, and Director whose storytelling spans feature films, scripted series, factual entertainment, and documentaries for broadcasters including CBC, APTN, Global, Comedy, TVO, Unis, and TFO. She wrote and directed the CSA- and WGC-nominated feature The Fruit Machine, produced the Telefilm Canada/Unis French-language feature Noël en boîte, and co-executive produced S1 of APTN’s Pow Wow Chow. Sarah is currently directing the feature doc, The Green Bench, and producing Where Journeys Meet, a documentary for CBC. A queer, disabled, and regional storyteller, she is the founding partner of SandBay Entertainment.
Violet Ferguson
Violet Ferguson is an emerging producer, content creator, and disability advocate based near Toronto, Ontario. Over the past few years, she’s focused on sharing disability-led stories and supporting disabled voices through her filmmaking and advocacy work. She recently served as the Associate Producer on the award-nominated series The Squeaky Wheel: Canada, a disability-focused production that prioritized accessibility and disability representation both in front of and behind the camera — now heading into its second season! In her spare time, Violet shares commentary and raises awareness about dwarfism and disability through a pop culture lens on her TikTok account, @itsvioletferguson.
