National Survey on the Cultural Sector’s Readiness for Artificial Intelligence

Canadian Heritage is developing a $50 million initiative designed to support the cultural sector’s adaptation to technological change, including advances in artificial intelligence. To support the design of this program, they're launching the National Survey on the Cultural Sector’s Readiness for Artificial Intelligence. Deadline: September 15. Learn more.

Pride in Production

Pride in Production: Allyship Skills for Screen Professionals and Organizations is an initiative by Pink Triangle Press supported by CMF that provides the Canadian screen sector with research‑based, industry‑led training and certification to build inclusive workplaces.

Call for applications: IP Fund

Applications are now open for the Ontario Creates IP Fund, which supports the development, pre-production, and production of feature films and digital series. The deadline for the Linear Content Stream is September 22, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. ET. Information sessions will be held on July 28 and August 12.

Teeny Tales

Teeny Tales is a new short-form preschool series developed specifically for children aged 4 to 6 who communicate using American Sign Language (ASL). To ensure authentic representation, the show was written, directed, and performed by creators from the Deaf community. The series is available now on CBC TV, CBC Gem, and the CBC Kids YouTube channel.

STORY TO ACTION

Our friends at Story Money Impact have a call for applications open for their program, STORY TO ACTION. They'll select three documentary films that address pressing social and environmental issues and support those projects with the creation of impact strategies, outreach to community partners, and the hosting of screenings and panels with the goal of using the film as a tool to create positive change.

PictureNL Producer Mentorship Program

The CMPA has partnered with PictureNL to create a mentorship program that focuses on training up emerging and mid-career producers in the local film and television production sector, broadening their understanding of production activities. This program also assists Newfoundland and Labrador-based companies in building successful businesses. Apply by June 12.
