In a world that often overlooks disabled artists and patrons, The Disability Collective is reshaping the arts landscape through accessibility consultation, and inclusive, disability-led programming that centres accessibility, representation, and creative expression.
We are the only fully disability-led multidisciplinary arts organization in Ontario, dedicated to creating spaces where disabled artists and audiences thrive.
We are committed to sharing our knowledge and experience with other organizations in Canada and internationally to change the standard of accessibility and inclusivity in the arts & culture sector.
True accessibility involves us all, and we can’t wait for you to be a part of the change.
The Disability Collective (TDC) is a fully disability-led performing arts organization in Toronto, dedicated to celebrating and showcasing work created solely by disabled artists. We hope to expand the disability landscape in Canada by providing disabled artists with paid opportunities to share their work in a variety of forms, along with actively advocating for and improving accessibility and inclusion in the Canadian arts community by providing disability consultation services. Our services include but are not limited to: -Access coordination for a show or event -Training sessions, presentations and keynotes to help educate organizations on disability and accessibility -Event / operational consultation -Creative consultation to help projects properly include disabled characters in to their stories and disabled actors on to their sets -The creation of Access Guides and Venue Guides Our goal is to provide organizations and individuals with the strategic and practical support they need to incorporate accessibility into their events, offerings, and daily practices in order to build a more inclusive world for everyone, with a focus on the disabled community.
