Beyond Barriers Consulting is an accessibility consulting company providing tailored accessibility advice to organizations across all sectors whether for compliance or as part of a business strategy. We offer coaching, accessibility audits, and team training to help you navigate legislation and build genuinely inclusive practices. For clients in the screen and creative industries, we bring particular insight: our principal consultant has conducted accessibility audits and strategy planning for film festivals, and has extensive firsthand experience as a creator. Credits include How to Listen in a Silent World, a 4-episode web series funded by Telus Storyhive; Read My Lips, a sitcom selected for CBC's Creative Relief Fund development deal; and Between the Laughter, an NFB documentary that aired on CBC, PBS, and screened at Whistler International Film Festival. He's also a published science fiction author,stand-up comedian, and TEDx speaker whose talk "How to Listen Better – Tips from a Deaf Guy" has been translated into 20 languages. We understand accessibility from both sides of the camera—and the stage.
